Santiago Bolero - pink
Our handcrafted black bolero is a statement piece that you can glam up with a great dress or down with denims. Wear it two ways, as a bolero and as a cropped top (flip the garment, wear the back in front!).
This piece is made of fabric components crafted from handwoven fabric specially created for Good Luck, Humans by weavers in Santiago, a town in north Luzon, Philippines. We have to wait 8 weeks for 20 yard of this fabric to be finished. From those 20 yards, we can only make six boleros.
A slow-fashion piece for the person who wants to make a statement about life, fashion, and consumption.

How we make our fabric components:
When we get our handwoven fabric after months of anticipated waiting, we hand-cut circles 2.5 inches from the cloth. These circles are then picked up by the women we work with from an impoverished community in Las Pinas. They hand-sew and fill each of these circles to make the fabric components.
The components are then brought back to our workshop. Again using hand-sewing techniques, we transform them into the objects our customers enjoy.
It takes us three complete days to finish a bolero. It is work that requires equal parts skill, dedication, and love.
