bestida terno dress - black
Bestida/Dress. Inspired by the Philippine flag, this linen garment has been embroidered with our sun and stars.
The sun on our flag is said to stand for freedom. The stars symbolize our islands. Perhaps this is a reach, but we think that this is how we communicate our wish for these times: to be free soon from our current misfortune.
The Bestida is a terno, meant not just for attending fashionable events, but for every day. The relaxed silhouette is inspired by pastoral paintings of women working the rice fields dressed in our traditional clothing.
We really want to design ternos for your daily life. We want you to wear this and be comfortable, feeling like you can tackle whatever the day requires.
The sun and stars in white were made using a combination of guided machine stitching and hand-embroidery.
This is a free-size dress. There are drawstrings and ties to adjust fit.
It is made of black linen.
