The limited-edition Bakunawa T-shirt is part of Simula, a collection we launch to celebrate Independence Day. It is inspired by creation myths that are deeply Filipino.
This a loose, roomy garment that can be worn by both men and women.
We use a fresh new technique that we call embroidered drawing to draw freestyle and embroider by hand Bakunawa on this oversized T-shirt.
According to Philippine mythology, Bakunawa is the destroyer. One story goes that there used to be seven moons in our skies, but this terrible serpent - the cause of eclipses and earthquakes - devoured six of them.
We are making only 9 of this T-shirt. Each T-shirt is numbered: 1/9, 2/9, 3/9, 4/9, 5/9, 6/9, 7/9, 8/9, or 9/9. We will not be making any more after the 9 runs out.
It is made from black linen.
