kara dress - brown linen

The Kara is a demure dress with a fully hand-smocked and hand-embroidered bodice.

It was constructed first by gathering the linen in tiny pleats, and then embroidering over the smocked garment with two shades of blue thread.

Our smocking is done by artisans who learned the craft from their mothers and grandmothers.

Fits from bustline 32 to 44 inches,

Length is 40 inches.

Our model Andy is 5'4". She usually wears a size small.

Care: Handwashing recommended; or machine-wash on cold, delicate cycle. Ironing recommended.
