We've been asked many times what machine we use to make our smocked clothes. Our answer: none!
Our clothes are made by human hands. We work with artisans from Batangas who have been smocking for years, learning the craft from their parents and grandparents.
To get everything looking even, after we cut our cloth, we apply on them a repeating pattern of dots using ink and pattern paper through which we had poked holes. These dots are what guide us, as we then smock the cloth using needle and thread to make the clothes you see on our website.
We prepared the video to give you a better idea of how it's done. As you'll see, no machines. Powered by pure human skill.
