At Good Luck, Humans, we always try to work towards waste reduction. We are proud of how we save most of our fabric scraps from landfills. We transform them into Lucky Buttons bags and furniture, and into brooches and headbands.
A dilemma for us, however, has been what to do with clothing that we overproduce. The goal is to sew just enough of what you will buy. But every now and then, we miss the mark. The pieces hang unused in our workshop, representing waste of material and labor.
So we ask you to participate in an experiment in circularity.
We have taken some of the excess pieces and redesigned them. We have cut up smocked and embroidered garments, then sewn them together again to make new things. By reusing materials that already exist, we reduce the need to create new resources from raw materials.
